RootsMagic 4 Mystery Tab Spoiler Image

Sunday, 20 Jul 2008 | by Mark Tucker

Through some “patent pending” combination of technology and methodology, RootsMagic 4 will be able to automatically do all of your genealogy for you.  As you can see by the AutoDo tab this software has gone where only others have dreamed.

RootsMagic - Tabs (spoiler)

I can’t wait for the details of this mystery tab.  The hope of many family historians is that on this tab is a single button with the text: “Do it all and include source citations!”

 RootsMagic 4 Spoiler Tab Detail

I hope you had fun with this post.  I just couldn’t resist the fake spoiler.

  1. But…but…but… I want to be able to find it out myself. They’re going to spoil the fun of genealogy research? The cads, the bas.., um, is this a family-friendly blog?

How can we mess up their automatic family definer? You’re a software designer, think of something!

    Cheers — Randy

PS. What’s fake? The image? The AutoDo?

  2. I confess, I made up the whole AutoDo nonsense. It would ruin the fun of genealogy research.

  3. The AutoDo will surely revitalize genealogy research as we now know it. Hats off to Bruce. It’s time to line up for the new version with its many improvements.

  4. You’ve made my day! A laugh a day will keep the doctor away … and leave us more time to do the really important things like genealogy. Way to go, Mark.

  5. This is really funny! The definative button for all those folks who send me notes telling me they want “everything you have” on a particular family line. Sure, I am just going to mail off 10 years of work on the illusive Amyntus Brigg’s 22 children!

  6. I just had to laugh, first of all because I had to know and secondly because you used such a great example. Thanks! (wow, 22 children!)

You might be much closer than you realize. With some intrigration of Cooperation with RootsMagic with Family Search, this is closer to reality.
The new Family Search program called Record Search will research all records giving their sources in the process.
Not finding them all, but providing a more complete search tool in searching all their worldwide recolrds at once.
Close Bruce or just reading between the lines?
